Abstract:

Due to its synthetic and complex characters, such as multivariable, strong coupling, nonlinearity, the shaft furnace Toasting process is very difficult to control in optimizing mode. To deal with this problem, a hybrid intelligent optimizing setting control approach is developed. The set points in control loops are produced by the methodology of case-based reasoning (CBR), followed by real-time appraisal and correction for the purpose of the optimizing on integrated production indices. The proposed method realized the optimizing control for integrated production indices. The successful application on shaft furnaces from a mineral processing plant in China indicates effectiveness of the proposed method.
