Abstract:
The pH and the conductivity of the anode solution and the cathode solution were tested, and the open circuit voltage of the MFC was analyzed in this paper, providing a theoretical basis to improve the performance of MFC. The start-up time of the MFC is shorter when bacteria are domesticated and cultured The open circuit voltage is more stable and higher under the conditions of the constant temperature, high temperature and high concentration of the substrate. The open circuit voltage is reduced when the product accumulates in the anode solution. The pH difference of the anode solution and the cathode solution is positive related to the current in the circuit. The conductivity of the anode solution reduces, and the conductivity of the cathode solution increases, and ion in the anode solution migrate to the cathode solution when the MFC runs normally. The speed of the ion migration is positive related to the current in the circuit.
