Abstract:

In order to reduce road traffic accidents due to proneness characteristic of driver easily involved in traffic accident, drivers involved in traffic accident at one typical section of 109 national highway were analyzed to get the statistical characteristics of these drivers by analyzing their ages, driving experience and gender. Regarded accident frequency and severe degree as evaluated indexes, the accident proneness of driver was divided into 4 grades: low, middle, relative high and high. Accident pronenesses of drivers were analyzed by the grey clustering method. The result shows that drivers' accident pronenesses display cubic curve along with the age: accident proneness of male is higher than that of female; drivers with driving experience which are less than 3 years take high accident proneness; the male drivers with driving experience which are less than 3 years and are younger than 33 years old take the highest accident proneness.
