Abstract:
The investigation on laser sintering of LiNbO3 ceramics is reported. The green patch of LiNbO3 ceramic was sintered by a 150 W CO2 laser, with sintering temperature around 980°C. Compared with that sintered by conventional solid state reaction technique, the dielectric permittivity of the LiNbO3 ceramic sintered by laser is lower, polarization of the ceramic is easier, and the piezoelectric constant d33 is 6 pC/N. By using the XRD, SEM and Raman spectra, the phase, micro-structure, and the mechanism of property modification in laser sintered LiNbO3 ceramics were analyzed.
