To　normalize　XML　schema　design　in　system　analyzing　and　designing　stage　of　software　engineering　according　to　the　data　exchange　standard　on　the　Web,　the　normalization　of　XML　schema　design　based　on　the　extended　entity/relationship　map　(E/R　map)　is　studied.　Regarding　the　XML　schema　tree　as　data　schema　and　the　extended　E/R　map　semantic　schema,　the　translation　rules　from　the　extended　E/R　map　to　XML　schema　tree　are　proposed.
