Abstract:
QoS sensitive applications have become increasingly popular. This paper presents end-to-end QoS control techniques to improve the network usage factor and the destination buffer utilization of the application. The data scheduling process of the QoS sensitive applications has been described. An analytical modeling of QoS performance has been put forward. End-to-end QoS evaluation metrics have been deduced, and a dynamic threshold-based packet scheduling scheme has been proposed. Simulation experiment has been performed and the results show that the proposed algorithm improves the end-to-end QoS performance of the QoS sensitive applications. © 2011 IEEE.
