Abstract:

Based on the analysis of Beijing suburb traffic accident data, the 'combined evaluation factor of multiple-unite linear regression method' was used to model the relationship of the suburb intersection traffic conditions and traffic accident rates. The evaluation method of the suburb intersection traffic safety was provided. According to the intersection's traffic saturation, the proportion of non-motor vehicles, vehicle types, the proportion of left turn, intersection spacing, Intersection types and the separated level of imports and so on, the combined evaluation coefficient Q was determined, and then the safety level of the intersection was determined. Therefore, this research has the practical significance in the reasonable evaluation and optimal design of suburb intersections. Copyright ASCE 2007.
