Abstract:

A new global shape control method, compound feedforward cascade control method, is presented for UC rolling mill. Here feedforward compensation eliminates the coupling effects in the global shape system, while the cascade control improves the control performance of the system. Self-tuning control and PID control with Smith prediction are respectively used in the inner loop and outer loop. The disturbance rejection capacity of the system is improved and the effects of time delay are removed by using these strategies.
