In order to make scientific treatment strategies for existing asphalt pavement with semi-rigid base course, a pavement structure analysis model was established by using the Abaqus software. Influence of pavement parameters on fatigue life of semi-rigid sub-base was analyzed. The calculation results were verified by the actual data of the typical sections of expressway in Beijing. And treatment strategies for existing asphalt pavement with semi-rigid base course were put forward. The results show that the effect of base thickness, sub-base thickness, asphalt layers thickness and traffic load on the fatigue life of semi-rigid base materials are more obvious than that of sub-grade modulus and sub-base modulus. The effect of asphalt layers modulus and base layers modulus are relatively small. The practical application of the expressway also shows that the relationship between asphalt pavement overhaul period of the first time and the thickness of asphalt pavement is more significant than that of the total thickness of the pavement structure. The asphalt pavement with thicker asphalt pavement has a longer service life. The decline of material modulus does not affect the durability of the pavement structure and the existing structure of asphalt pavement with semi-rigid base course still have durability and the service life of pavement can be prolonged under the condition that there is not any comprehensive renovation. © 2017, Editorial Department of Journal of Beijing University of Technology.
