In order to discuss the dynamic deformation characteristics and evaluate the seismic performance and dynamic response of interaction system including lock chamber-soil foundation, both response spectrum and time-history analyses of chamber lock interaction system subjected to horizontal and vertical seismic action are conducted respectively by using subspace iteration method to obtain natural frequencies and modes, and solving dynamic equations by Newmark's implicit method with considering geometric nonlinearity based on the computational FEM model.The numerical results show that the maximum horizontal displacement of lock chamber and the maximum tensional stress are 42.5 mm and 1.39 MPa respectively.It can be concluded that the results from response spectrum and step-by-step integration methods accord with each other well and meet the requirements of the seismic code. © 2017, Editorial Department of Journal of SJZU.
