Lifelong learning has been the chief idea for the modern people. The learning ability affects its result directly. At the age when the media ifeld is full of pictures and graphics, people are more and more used to expressing and explaining information through pictures, the ability of solution and composition of graph will affect the communication and transmission of information. In the process of education informatization, to have good visual literacy is quite important for talented people trained by the government. During the teaching, the pictures and cartoons, as the main forms of the teaching resource, has been known well by teachers and students. As micro-lecture and MOOC is used in the teaching activity, more and more visual information enters the teaching ifeld. It is critical time for teachers to stress the training of the students of visual literacy. Visual literacy is a new research area. Considering current research situation both at home and abroad, the paper discusses visual literacy’s definition, origin and connotation, and its important effects and role on teaching is learning, integrating education resources and the training of the students innovation, cognitive ability and personalized learning. This paper discusses the current issues in the visual literacy training in Chinese curriculum teaching and provide suggestions for some problems.
