Seismic Performance of Z-shear Wall with Bidirectional Single Row of Steel Bars and Inclined Reinforcements
Translated Abstract
To satisfy the development requirements for the multi-story residential structure in seismic fortified areas, the reinforced concrete ( RC for short) shear wall structure with bidirectional single row of steel bars and inclined reinforcements and combination with part of permanent formwork construction technology is proposed. Compared with traditional clay-brick structure, it has better seismic performance, energy-conserving and environment-protective. Compared with normal RC shear wall structure, it has simpler construction and lower cost. For investigating the seismic performance of this new Z-shear wall, the cyclic loading tests on two Z-shear walls with the same amount of reinforcement. One wall with bidirectional single row of steel bars and another wall with bidirectional single row of steel bars and inclined reinforcements. Based on the experimental research, load-carrying capacity, ductility, stiffness, hysteresis property, energy dissipation and failure characteristics have been analyzed and established the calculative formulas of the load-bearing capacity. It is shown that the seismic performance of Z-shear wall with inclined reinforcements is better than the normal reinforced concrete shear wall with the single row of steel bar, so it is able to meet better the requirements of seismic design of multi-story residential structure.
