Temperature field analysis for welded hollow spherical joints under fire

Based on the properties and the stress characteristics of space frame structures under fire,the fire performances of welded hollow spherical joints under fire are numerically simulated with the thermal parameters specified in the EuroCode 3 and the standard fire temperature-time curve ISO 834. The distribution law and the influencing factors of temperature fields are analyzed.The results show that the ultimate fire resistance duration can be prolonged by decreasing the load ratio and increasing the thickness of the welded steel pipe,and the ultimate fire resistance duration under axial tension is longer than that under axial compression.
