Boarding bridge is the connecting channel between boarding gate and aircraft cabin, the wall of the boarding bridge was usually made of toughened-glass while the roof and floor were built by the lightweight material due to its special function and transparency requirements. However, the toughened-glass and lightweight material structure resulting in a huge/ large energy consumption for cooling in summer or heating in winter. In order to research the energy saving measures for boarding bridge air conditioning, in this study, a longitudinal field measurement was carried out in one 3-storey boarding bridge of Beijing's Capital Airport, Termi-nal-3. During the field measurement period, the influence of some potential influential factors, such as outdoor weather conditions, the time-table of flights arrival and departure on the temperature distribution and the air conditioning load of the boarding bridge was identified. The field measurement data can be used in further research for exploring the energy saving measures, optimizing operation and management. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
