The carrying capacity of hydrostatic bearing will be influenced by the surface deformation caused by a combined action of the load, flow pressure, manufacture errors, etc. In the present work, a kind of the Reynolds equation based model within surface waviness taken into consideration is established for the analyzing of the load carrying ability of thrust bearings under linear deformations. The superficial deformations, either convex or concave, could be respected linear if it is in a small extent. Then, expression of the fluid film thickness is a regarded as the combination of linear deformations and surface waviness. By adaptive Simpson quadrature, the carrying capacity will be solved as a result of the numerical integration for a partial differential Reynolds equation of second order, which includes flow pressure and fluid film thickness.
