Underground complex with transport hub can effectively relieve the urban traffic pressure and expand urban capacity, which is booming now in China. however, the space layout and diversification of its function pose the difficult on the emergency evacuation and path recognition. In addition, with a large number of people as the heavy fire load, an unsuccessful design will cause great casualties and property losses. At present, for there is a lack of referential standard and the domestic researches still lag behind the existing condition, it is urgent to carry out related research. Firstly, this essay discusses types and characteristics of underground complex with transport hub, and analyses evacuation difficulties and key factors in successful evacuation. Secondly, with the aim of improving the space recognition and path-finding efficiency, this essay divides the underground space into three different levels (whole, zone and unit), and puts forward a series of plans for the space layout, design elements, and the index for the horizontal and vertical evacuation space. The evacuation design for whole level can be carried out by three ways. Taking the city planning and city disaster prevention into consideration, the UCTH should build a harmonious relationship with the ground buildings, transportation, public green space; Combined with its function and internal transportation, the whole underground space should be divided into several evacuation partitions; design emergence shelter, which is separated from other zones by firewall so that it can protect people from fire or explosion. The evacuation design for zones mainly focused on commercial zone and transport hub zone. Which should taking the function and spatial relationship into consideration as well as take evacuees' behavior and psychological in consideration. Atrium or sinking square would contribute to a successful evacuation. The evacuation design for units could be done from by Horizontal evacuation design and Vertical evacuation design. For Horizontal evacuation design, fire and smoke prevention units are necessary. The overall layout should meet requirements for horizontal evacuation route. Evacuation index such as the number of safety stairs and fire elevators, the horizontal evacuation distance should be set appropriately. Vertical evacuation design consists of appropriate location and form of vertical evacuation route. Vertical transport in nodes should be paid special attention and vertical fire prevention units as well as smoke-proof units in atrium are also required. The paper will provide good references for a perfect evacuation system of underground complexes with transport hub and the establishment of related design standards.
