This　article　explains　the　development　of　urban　rail　transit　from　a　new　view,　namely　indicating　the　possible　path　dependence　and　locking　phenomena　in　existing　competitions　of　urban　transportation　technique　and　ground　transportation　technique　from　the　encountered　compatibility　problem.　From　further　analysis,　the　incomes,　sunk　costs　and　switching　costs　and　so　on　brought　by　the　transportation　technique　then　become　the　key　influencing　factors　in　determining　or　transcending　the　path　dependence　in　the　development　of　urban　transit　ways.　On　that　account,　the　development　of　urban　rail　transit　shall　be　recognized　and　solved　from　the　history　of　transportation　technique　and　the　high　level　of　key　industry　cultivation.
