Abstract:
Perlin noise is the most popular way of making spectacular texture for 3D graphics. Nevertheless, it is time-consumption for large scale texture creating, not suited to procedural texture synthesis in real-time rendering. In addition, Perlin noise is hard to used as noise tile to accelerate rendering speed for discontinuities along boundaries caused by the drawback of Perlin band. In this paper, we use the theory of wavelet to process Perlin noise tile and create new noise tile which can be used for tiling technology in procedural texture generating.
