摘要:
Pavement skid resistance, which depends on slip speed, is an important factor impacting traffic safety. A new model describing slip speed-friction coefficient relationship with 3 parameters are validated using 63 DFT measurements of Asphalt Concrete (AC) pavement and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement respectively with various highway grades and surface texture. Regression analysis is conducted for each DFT measurement using SAS. Then, statistical characters of regression R-square are analyzed for AC and PCC pavement respectively. Most values of AC pavement R-square are above 0.9 (only one is 0.8962). About 90% values of PCC pavement R-square are above 0.9 and 6 values of R-square are less than 0.87. Friction coefficient is not monotonic decreasing with slip speed for the 6 measurements with R-square below 0.87. It is concluded that the model has good reliability for AC pavement and most PCC pavement. Only less than 10% PCC pavement measurements cannot be properly fitted by the model.
