Abstract:

The environmental impact of new technology is important and interesting for academic research in the field of new technology assessment. A thorough presentation of the approaches, methods and tools that have been introduced or employed in the field of technology assessment such as toxicology, life cycle assessment method (LCA), the combination of LCA and toxicology for environmental impact of new technological assessment, as well as the frame of new technological impact on the environment based on technology forecast and the application and so on is provided in the paper. Based on the reviews of the current situation, it's argued the shortage of existing research, in order to cover which, one of the mainly prospects for future research work is the scope identification in research, and establishment of assessment benchmark, and further research and empirical studies on promising methods may be applied.
