摘要:
Phthalates are a group of industrial chemicals widely used in many commercial applications. The general population is exposed to phthalates through dietary ingestion, inhalation and dermal absorption. To study phthalate pollution that Chinese is exposed to, we have invited 32 persons and determined their urinary monoester metabolites of five commonly used phthalate in Chinese population and estimated the daily intake values derived from urinary metabolites. Monobutyl phthalate (MBP) and monoethylhexyl phthalate (MEHP) were present in more than 70% of urine samples. The highest geometric mean levels were found for MEHP (69.2ng/mL), followed by MBP. The concentration of MEHP was 15-70 folds higher than German and American studies. Its median value of estimated daily intake was 3-times higher than the TDI (37 mu g/kg bodyweight/day). Furthermore, 75% of the subjects (24 out of 32 samples) exceeded the TDI. Mann-Whitney U tests performed on daily intake of the phthalates confirmed that the female and male were not significantly different and Kruskal-Wallis test showed that age was not associated with daily intake of the phthalates. The study showed that the Chinese were exposed to DEHP to a much higher extent than other regions.
