THz Spectrum and ionic polarizability of PbB4O7 Crystal - Details

Abstract：

The　terahertz　refractive　index　n(upsilon)　of　lead　tetraborate　(PbB4O7)　crystal　decreases　due　to　vanish　of　the　ionic　polarizabilities　in　sequence　of　the　Ph2+,　O2-　and　B3+　ions　when　the　frequency　increasing.　The　ionic　polarizabilities　are　calculated　by　the　Clausius-Mossotti　relation,　alpha(Pb)　is　0.428x10(-24)　cm(3)　and　alpha(O)　is　0.049x10(-24)　cm(3)　respectively.
