摘要:
In this paper, the compressive behavior of concrete-filled stainless steel tubular (CFSST) stub columns has been investigated through an experimental program. A total of 24 specimens, including nine austenitic CFSST, nine duplex CFSST stub columns and six stainless steel tubes of corresponding cross-section size, were tested under axial compression. Load-axial displacement curves, load-strain curves and failure modes were measured during the tests. The results show that all CFSST stub columns fail in the form of waist drum failure mode, and the stainless steel tubes fail in local buckling mode with two sides of steel tube bulging and two sides being concave. The bearing capacity of specimens under axial compression increases with the increase of the thickness of stainless steel tube and the strength of concrete. The test results are compared with the predicted load values by codes BS EN 1994-1-1, ANSI/AISC 360-10, AIJ-CFT 1997, GB 50936-2014 and DBJ 13-51-2003, indicating that the predicted load values by BS EN 1994-1-1 are closest to the test results. © 2021, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures.
