Urban Traffic Link Tunnel (UTLT) is a new kind of underground transportation system. Because it is usually located in the downtown area, the fire risk level is higher than the common road tunnel. So, it is very important and necessary to research the smoke control technique or strategy for the UTLT. In this study, the smoke control strategy of a designed fire scenario in Beijing CBD UTLT, which would be constructed, was simulated and studied by the numerical software of ANSYS-FLUENT 6.3.26. The settings of boundary conditions were also investigated, analyzed and validated. By numeric simulation, the optimal smoke control strategy was found. In this condition, all of the smoke can be excluded quickly, and people can evacuate safely. The research method of smoke control in this UTLT can be a useful reference of fire protection design for other complicated tunnels.
