Abstract:
Plenty of applications and services for personal communications in wireless mobile networks (WMN) are brought up recently, such as mobile commerce applications and teleconference applications. So the end-to-end security requirements are necessary. Nevertheless WMN don't offer end-to-end confidentiality and integrity mechanism for personal communications. The linchpin of end-to-end security is the authentication of users. Considering the limited wireless bands and the limited computing ability of mobile devices, we present a simple authentication and key distribution protocol (SAKDP) for end-to-end secure communications. Based on symmetric cryptography and one-way function techniques, SAKDP is satisfied with secure requirements of wireless end-to-end secure communication, also enables dynamic secure communications. The proposed scheme also has identity anonymity and encryption key renewal mechanism, its computation cost and transmission cost are smaller.
