Much work is needed to for a further study on the dynamic analysis and design of fully compliant mechanisms to improve their performance and operational accuracy. In order to give attention to the rotation range and operation accuracy, elliptical flexure hinge is studied in this paper. An integral equation for elliptical flexure hinge is derived by introducing centrifugal angle as the integral variable. Defining an intermediate parameter in the integral equation, the stiffness of elliptical flexure hinge is presented. Then the dynamic model is proposed to predict the fundamental natural frequency of fully compliant mechanism. The results of example indicate that design parameters have an impact on the stiffness of elliptical flexure hinge and the frequency characteristics of fully compliant mechanism. The proposed method is convenient for analyzing stiffness of elliptical flexure hinge and frequency characteristics of fully compliant mechanisms.
