Abstract：
This paper presents a model of a virtual enterprise, which uses a network alliance. This is based on the situation in China. The cooperative elements and modular structure of the virtual enterprise are discussed. The basic framework for networking NC (numerical control) machining is established. A uniform network protocol for communication and a cooperative platform for the network alliance are described. The virtual enterprise model was tested by machining a part in one city by network control from another city. The experimental clearly validated the virtual enterprise model.
