摘要:
Traffic safety at intersections is a major concern. Many crashes analyses focus on the safety effects of a wide variety of geometric design, traffic, and control elements of at-grade intersections. However, few studies account for human factors in China while approximately 90 percent crashes are somehow determined by human factors. Understanding how drivers and other roadway users interact within an intersection environment is fundamental to improve roadway safety and save lives. The paper analyzed field data of crashes which occurred at unsignalized intersections. Then the paper addressed the main human factors related unsignalized intersections safety. The authors proposed some effective measures by applying human factors principles that are both systems oriented and human-centered.
