Abstract:

Selection of technologies is' one of the most challenging tasks at national,'industrial and enterprise level. It is difficult to clarify the right technology alternatives because the number of technologies is increasing and the technologies are becoming more and more complex. The demands for technology evaluation have increased. However, technology evaluation in nature is an intractable task and existing methods for technology evaluation are subject to drawbacks and limitations. The research presented here reviews the integrated methodologies of new technologies evaluation. And the defmition of technology commercial potential was given and a prescriptive assessment framework of new technology commercial potential was proposed. This study developed an integrated approach for new technology evaluation and selection combining the foresight and text mining, which has the advantage of fully consideration of the expert panel opinion and the existing bibliometrics and patent database, and combination the objective and subjective factors to give comprehensive evaluation on the technology commercial potential.
