摘要:
In this study the production of high surface area silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are reported from the Dodonaea viscosa plant species under controlled condition. The reaction was completed at 40 °C within 5 h and the product was characterized by several advanced techniques such as PXRD, FTIR, TGA, FESEM, XPS, DRS, BET, and UV–Vis. The prepared AgNPs were also evaluated for antimicrobial activities against pathogenic bacteria and fungi such as multi-drug resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Candida albican at a minimum inhibitory concentration (1 μg/mL) with 9 mL of liquid medium (Nutrient Broth). AgNPs were also found to speed up the reduction of organic pollutants such as 2-nitrophenol (2-NP), 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and azo dyes included Methyl orange (MO), Congo red (CR) and Rhodamine B (RB) which causes pollution. The highest surface area is found for Ag-25 (7.38 m2/g) as compared to others NPs might be the highest catalytic potential of Ag-25. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.
