Disclosed is a two-dimensional quantitative diagnosis method for an outer ring defect of a rolling bearing. The method divides a fault shock oscillation type into Class 1 and Class 2 according to signal waveform characteristics thereof. With regard to a Class 1 outer ring defect, the circumferential dimensions of the defect are first quantitatively diagnosed based on a proposed circumferential dimension calculation formula for the Class 1 outer ring defect; and two-dimensional quantitative diagnosis of the Class 1 outer ring defect is completed by a proposed center position dimension calculation formula for the Class 1 outer ring defect. With regard to a Class 2 outer ring defect, the circumferential dimensions of the defect are first quantitatively diagnosed based on a proposed circumferential dimension calculation formula for the Class 2 outer ring defect; then, σvh values of left and right edges of the outer ring defect are respectively calculated; and finally, center position dimensions of the outer ring defect are diagnosed by a proposed center position dimension calculation formula for the Class 2 outer ring defect, so that the two-dimensional quantitative diagnosis of the Class 2 outer ring defect is completed.
