The present invention discloses an unmanned aerial vehicle fixed-point hovering system and method,  relating to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicles,  and particularly relating to an unmanned aerial vehicle fixed-point hovering system and method applicable in an indoor environment. The system comprises an unmanned aerial vehicle flight control unit,  a fixed-point hovering control module,  and an unmanned aerial vehicle motor module. The unmanned aerial vehicle flight control unit is used to control flight of the unmanned aerial vehicle. The fixed-point hovering control module is used to control fixed-point hovering during the flight of the unmanned aerial vehicle. The motor module is used to change a flight motion status of the unmanned aerial vehicle. The fixed-point hovering control module provided by the present invention uses textural features to acquire an effective region,  thereby reducing the amount of computations required compared with a conventional optical flow fixed point method. An optical flow field for the effective region is calculated by using an optical flow method,  and control acceleration information is obtained. The invention reduces the computations required for an optical flow fixed point,  and improves computational timeliness and stability of fixed-point hovering.
