摘要:
Hypocycloid-core Kagome hollow-core photonic crystal fiber(HK-HC-PCF)offers wider transmission bandwith, higher damage threshold and lower optical attenuation at some wavelengths compared to the photonic bandgap guiding photonic crystal fiber(PBG-HC-PCF).It has important applications in the fields of nonlinear frequency conversion, high power pulse compression, gas liquid detection and cell biological molecules trace detection. However, the fiber fabrication of this type of fiber is complicated due to its special hypocycloid-core-shape Kagome structure. To date, only a few research groups can fabricate this fiber.Inthis paper, using the conventional stack-and-draw technique,we experimentally fabricated a seven-cell two-ring hypocycloid-core Kagome HC-PCF(shown in picture)by carefully controlling the drawing temperature, drawing speed, the relative pressure between the core and cladding and other parameters during the fiber fabrication. The fabricated fiber has a diameter of 175 μm,a core size of 40 μm,a pitch of 20 μm and exhibits a single mode operation. The transmission spectrum spans from 900 nm to >1700 nm(limit of the optical spectrum analyser(OSA))measured by using a white light source and an OSA.The measured optical attenuation exhibit a value of 300 dB/km at a spectral range of 1100—1700 nm by a cut-back from 25 m long fiber to 5 m.The successfully drawing of HK-HC-PCF with low optical attenuation and wide transmission bandwith will help development in many research fields such as high power leaser, optical fiber sensing, nonlinear optics and bio photonics in our country.
