Abstract:
The study of pulse dynamics in fiber lasers is of great significance for the generation of high quality ultrashort pulses. Reasonable control of the intra-cavity dispersion can improve the pulse width, energy and noise characteristics. We report an all-polarization-maintaining (PM) dispersion managed thulium-doped fiber laser (TDFL) based on nonlinear amplified loop mirror. Conventional soliton, stretched-pulse soliton and dissipative soliton generation are demonstrated, when the oscillator operates with different net dispersion. Self-starting and stable mode-locked operation is achieved with different types of soliton pulses. © 2022 SPIE.
