In order to improve the solar insuring rate of solar air-conditioning system in public buildings, a cold storage method by using phase change material is presented in this paper, which is based on traditional solar air-conditioning system of public buildings, and the mathematical model of this method is established. The current results show that the system model established in this paper is in good agreement with the measured data by simulation and experimental test and the feasibility and effectiveness of the system are verified. Compared with the traditional chilled water storage system in this case, this system is expected to increase the solar insuring rate by 17.5% in refrigeration season. © 2019, Editorial Board of Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica.
