Malware　activities　have　become　more　and　more　frequent　in　recent　years,　and　malware　has　become　an　essential　threat　in　the　field　of　network　security.　Malware　detection　technology　has　also　received　more　and　more　attention.　Since　the　machine　learning　method　can　effectively　solve　the　classification　problem　in　malware　detection　technology,　the　malware　detection　technology　based　on　machine　learning　is　gradually　applied　in　various　scenarios.　This　paper　first　summarizes　the　traditional　malware　detection　technology,　then　introduces　the　classification　and　specific　implementation　methods　of　machine　learning-based　malware　detection　technology,　and　finally　summarizes　the　problems　faced　by　the　current　detection　technology　and　expounds　possible　future　research.　©　2023　IEEE.
