摘要:
In order to investigate static loading capacity of stainless steel welded I-section beam-columns, 20 stainless steel beam-columns, including ten austenitic (five were designed for buckling around major axis and five around minor axis) and ten duplex (five were designed for buckling around major axis and five around minor axis) stainless steel welded I-section specimens were designed. Slenderness ratios of specimens varied from 50 to 120 and design loading eccentricities were 50, 60 mm and 70 mm. The initial crookedness and loading eccentricities were measured prior to column tests in order to improve accuracy. According to test results, failure modes, load-displacement curves, load-strain curves and loading capacities were analyzed, and the test results were compared with predictions of current specifications CECS 410:2015 and EN 1993-1- 4. The results indicate that all members fail in the form of overall flexural buckling without evident local buckling. The bearing capacity decreases with increase of slenderness ratio and loading eccentricity. For the stainless steel welded I-section beam-columns, both EN 1993-1- 4 and CECS 410:2015 provide conservative predictions for the load capacity. © 2018, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures.
