Abstract:
In order to research on the effect of stiffening ribs on axial compression of embedded steel plate concrete composite shear wall, two specimens with the same dimensions were designed, including stiffening ribs on both sides of steel plate or not. The axial compression performance experiments of two specimens were carried out. The failure mode, displacement, stiffness degradation and strain were compared and analyzed. The test results show that the stiffening ribs on both sides of steel plate increase the axial compressive bearing capacity of the shear wall by 13.38%, the stiffness degradation slows down and the damage degree of concrete is reduced. Compared by steel plate without stiffening ribs, stiffening ribs delay steel plate buckling process. The numerical analysis of the whole process of two specimens was carried out. The numerical analysis curves are in good agreement with the experimental curves. The calculated formulas of axial compressive capacity are consistent with the experimental values. © 2017, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures. All right reserved.
