In order to evaluate the seismic behavior and performance of the assembled monolithic subway station, a full-scale precast concrete sidewall joint and a full-scale cast-in-place concrete sidewall joint were designed based on the Beijing Jin'anqiao subway station. The important indexes were studied under low-cycle repeated loading, such as failure modes, hysteretic characteristics, load-bearing capacity, deformation capacity, energy dissipation capacity and forced state of grout sleeve splicing et al. The results showed that the deformation capacity and load-bearing capacity of the sidewall joints were approximately same. The energy dissipation capacity of precast concrete joint was much lower than that of the cast-in-place concrete joint, and the crack failure modes were different obviously. The crack distribution of the cast-in-place concrete joint was homogeneous, but that of the precast concrete joint were centralized. For the precast concrete joint, the main cracks were distributed around the sections with stiffness mutation or maximum moments. The initial stiffness of the precast concrete joint was larger than that of the cast-in-place concrete joint in the prime loading stage, but it decreased drastically in the later loading stage. Based on the experimental results, the grouting sleeves were simplified by the principle basis of equivalent flexural rigidity, and the sidewall joints were simulated. The experimental results agree well with the those of numerical analysis, which validates the rationalization of the proposed method. © 2017, Editorial Office of China Civil Engineering Journal.
