Abstract:

As one of the most important components of the transportation system, the urban public transportation terminal is essentially researched by the transfer demand. In this work, the traffic network was abstracted as a hierarchical network. Based on the network equilibrium theory, the traveler's behavior of choosing travel mode was analyzed. The variational inequality model and the calculation method of transfer demand were presented. According to the data of O (origin)-D (destination) matrix and the changes of external variables, the changes of terminal transfer demand can be obtained and these changes were analyzed for improving the transfer efficiency. Finally, a numerical example was studied and the relationship between the changes of external variables and transfer demand in terminal was explored. The result has verified the feasibility of the proposed calculation method. This research could provide a useful reference for research on the transfer demand in urban public transportation terminal.
