摘要:

The titanium carbide (TiC) reinforced NiTi alloy composite coatings on Q235 mild steel were produced by plasma transferred arc surfacing (PTA). The wear-resistance of the alloy coatings was evaluated on a MLS225 set sand rubber wheel tester coupling with Q235 mild steel. The results show that the wear-resistance of the coatings is 11 times higher than that of Q235 mild steel, when the content of TiC in the coatings is 55%. The composite coating mainly consists of TiC, Ni3Ti and NiTi. The coating is metallurgically bonded to the substrate. The excellent wear resistance of the coating is attributed to the reinforcement of TiC, Ni3Ti phase with high hardness and to the tough NiTi intermetallic matrix. The abrasion of the coatings are dominated mainly by plastic cutting and brittle spalling of hard phases.
