Abstract:
To achieve constant removal rate processing for non-round parts X-C linkage grinding, grinding removal rate was decomposed into the product of grinding point movement speed, the grinding contact arc and the parts width; the C-axis speed was adjusted based on grinding point movement speed to achieve constant removal rate grinding. The grinding point movement speed formula was developed based on X-C linkage grinding speed relationship model. To calculate the grinding arc length, the intersect arc length between the curvature circle and the wheel was introduced to instead of the grinding contact length. Taking the flat cam grinding for example, the constant angular velocity and constant removal rate grinding were carried out on CNC camshaft grinder. The results showed that the constant removal rate of grinding variable speed grinding method could keep the grinding force more stable and improve the processing quality of non-round parts X-C linkage.
