摘要:
The effect of magnesium powder addition on waste activated sludge (WAS) fermentation under the condition of 20°C and pH=10 was investigated. The results show that adding magnesium powder does not affect WAS solubilisation, but can enhance volatile fatty acid (VFA) production, and the optimal addition is 0.01 g per gram TSS. The compositions of VFA are in following order (from big to small): acetic acid, n-butyric acid, iso-valeric acid, propionic acid, iso-butyric acid, n-valeric acid for any conditions investigated. The most and least concentrations of ammonia in the fermentation liquid are achieved when adding amounts are 0.01 and 0 g/g, respectively. The concentrations of phosphorus in the fermentation liquid decreases with the increase of the adding amounts.
