摘要:

Prefetching coordinate algorithm can effectively improve the efficiency of a storage system; however, its shortcomings limit performance increase of the storage system. The algorithm cannot be used in heterogeneous storage systems for these defects. This paper analyzes the two shortcomings and proposes an improved method. The new algorithm adds three counters to make more detailed analysis of the parameters of prefetching coordinator. Then, it can accurately adjust the aggressiveness of the prefetching algorithm. Result shows that the improved prefetching algorithm IHPC can not only reduce the miss rate of the server in random requests, but also be used in the heterogeneous system architecture. The performance of the storage system depends only on the performance of the prefetching algorithm in server-side.
