Rapid synthesis of nanosized NaY zeolite by hydrothermal method

Abstract:

A transparent seed (guiding agent) solution was prepared by using sodium aluminate as the aluminium source and silica sol(Ludox) as the silicon source. The aging time of the seed solution was around 6 hours for best crystallization of Nay zeolite under the conditions: the molar composition of the reactant mixture was n(Na2O):n(Al2O3): n(SiO2):n(H2O)=8:1:15:220, at crystallization temperature of 100°C for 4 hours. Identified by XRD, SEM, TEM, and BET techniques. Results indicated that the synthesized product was NaY whose particles were in relatively uniform size of about 150-200 nm in nano-size scale.
