Influence of rotational speed on microstructure and properties of high carbon high speed steel by electromagnetic centrifugal casting

摘要:

Influence of rotational speed of electromagnetic centrifugal casting machine on microstructure and properties of high carbon high speed steel (HC-HSS) was investigated under the condition of the magnetic intensity of 0.1 T. The results show that the microstructure of the steel are obviously refined. Meantime, the coarse carbides (VC) along grain boundary is changed into small particles. After heat treatment, hardness, impact toughness and wear resistance of the steel also increase as centrifugal speed increases from 600 r/min to 1370 r/min.
