The numerical simulation and experiments of various parameters influencing lead extrusion damper are conducted based on the energy dissipation mechanism of a lead extrusion damper. The test results show that the length and the height of bulge are two important factors in yielding force of the lead extrusion damper. Furthermore, the hysteretic curve of the lead extrusion damper is chubby, and the lead extrusion damper is an excellent energy-consuming device and suitable for vibration control of engineering structures.
