摘要:

A small passive direct methanol fuel cell, which can operate in any orientation, has been developed. Dynamic response of cell voltage to current load variation of passive fuel cells has been studied experimentally. The experimental results show that when current is loaded, output voltage of fuel cells with methanol concentration of 9 mol/L is higher and steadier than that of fuel cells with methanol molarity of 5 mol/L. When the current is low or unloaded, the voltage of fuel cell with anode fuel concentration of 5 mol/L is higher than that with 9 mol/L molarity. When the solution concentration is low, the higher the discharge current density is, the unsteadier the output voltage is. The analysis and discussions of mass transfer coupling with electrochemical reactions inside passive fuel cell have been conducted to explain the experimental phenomena.
