Microstructure and mechanical properties of soldered joint of high-frequency induction soldering of magnesium alloy AZ31B using Zn

摘要:

In order to joining wrought magnesium alloy AZ31B sheet using soldering manner. High-frequency induction soldering of wrought magnesium alloy AZ31B using Zn was investigated. Both the interface microstructure and the mechanical properties of the soldered joint were studied. The interface microstructure and formation phases of the soldering seam were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and X-ray energy dispersive spectrometer. The tensile strength of the soldered joint and the microhardness of the interface microstructure were tested. The results show that Zn react with the base metal, and α-Mg matrix and α-Mg+γ-MgZn eutectoid structure are formed in soldering seam. The average tensile strength of the butted joint is 52 MPa and the average shearing strength of the overlapped joint is 38 MPa. The fracture morphology of the soldered joint exhibits intergranular fracture mode and the fracture comes from α-Mg+γ-MgZn eutectoid structure.
