Abstract:

A new style vertical-isolated bearing, which is called combined disk spring bearing (DSB), is introduced in this paper. Computing methods of total load capacity, vertical stiffness, deflection capacity, and height of the DSB are studied. Based on these computing methods, a DSB with 5-ton load capacity was made to analyze the vertical isolation effect of DSB, and the performance tests were conducted. The test results show that the design method of DSB is reasonable and feasible. With high load capacity, variable stiffness and high damping, the DSB can be used in vertical-isolated buildings.
